Abstract
Mine wastewater has a very low pH making life difficult to survive. Chlorella algae thrives in low PH's and would be an ideal species for bioreactions in mining. Chlorella is a single-celled micro alga with the potential for absorbing heavy metals, as it has been discovered growing in some waste ponds on mine sites already.
