Abstract
Doug’s talk will cover the history of grey wolves in Yellowstone National Park, the role these animals play in ecosystem function and the human understanding of wolves as part of the regions natural history.

Doug Smith is the project leader for the Wolf Restoration Project in Yellow-stone and has been with the program since its inception. Doug has studied wolves for over 20 years. Prior to Yellowstone, he worked with wolves in Michigan (Isle Royale National Park) and Minnesota. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Idaho, a Master of Science in Biology from Michigan Technological University, and a PhD from the University of Nevada, Reno in Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology.
