Abstract
Mark Thompson will present details about the Berkeley Pit pumping and treating facility that will begin to operate possibly this year. He will also provide an update on the Berkeley Pit Migratory Bird Mitigation Plan.

Mark Thompson earned a BS in Environmental Science and Biology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas and an MS in Environmental Engineering from Montana Tech. He has recently returned to Montana Resources in Butte, Montana and has been there for the past 2.5 years. Mark is responsible for permitting, superfund activities, reclamation and tailings impoundment expansion. Prior to his return to Montana Resources, he worked at the Barrick-Golden Sunlight Mine for 7 years, the Red Dog Mine in Alaska for 8 years and at Montana Resources in Butte, Montana for 4 years.
