Abstract
The upper Clark Fork River and Silver Bow Creek were once too polluted to support trout populations. Improvements in water quality allowed trout to establish, but numerous human impacts still limit these populations. Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks have been monitoring trout populations in the upper Clark Fork for 50 years. Nathan will talk about how FWP’s monitoring data is being used to inform and evaluate restoration actions.

Nathan Cook is a fisheries biologist with Montana, Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. He developed a love of rivers while floating and fishing in his home state of Missouri. Since moving to Montana, Nathan has spent his career researching and monitoring fish in the upper Clark Fork Basin and is excited to work in an area where so much work is going into restoration.
