Abstract
The objective of this thesis was to affect an efficient and economical recovery of corundum. The corundum occurs as a crude ore admixed with quartz and other diluents. Yet, this material is a potential Montana resource of a valuable non-metallic mineral. In view of the strategic importance and the relatively small production of this mineral in the United States, it seems advisable at this time in world affairs to investigate every possible source of this mineral.
